Hi there, just posted to say i highly recommend the zen stone mp3 players. with no screen, it's accessible by using a round circle and a button. there is software you can get with jaws scripts though, i haven't downloaded that as it's simply drag and drop like an external hard drive. it's also very small and portable, so i recommend putting it in a purse or wallet for ease of losing.

Nice one. Just ordered one from Amazon.co.uk as I was on there anyway to get my copy of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows yesterday evening. I was looking for a more accessible Ipod/MP3 player anyway, and I orriginally thought I'd get an Iriver H10. The drawback there, is it's compatible only, with Windows XP, but then, I heard about the Zenstone MP3 player, also available from Amazon, so, all in one night, I read about it, found out it was compatible with Windows Vista, so it suited me down to the ground as this laptop I'm posting on now, is Windows Vista and my desktop's XP. Therefore, I went for it. It should arrive at College on Wednesday as the blurb said the dispatch date is July the 10th, 2007. I have an Ipod Nano and universal docking station and I've downloaded the free software and registered my laptop with Creative already, so when the player arrives at College, I'm ready for it. Zenstone, here I come, lollol.

um, jen?
*quivvers with fear*
Spooky? I just ordered a Zen Stone MP3 player, from no other place than Anazon, and bought it alongside my copy of the Deathly Hallows. How weird and scarey and co-insidental is that?
It should arive any day now! yay!

The Zen Stone rocks, I love it. I didn't buy it along with the Deathly Hallows, my GF pre-ordered it for me as a very late birthday present. Hey, J.K. chose to release it in July instead of May, so I couldn't help it, LOL!

Well JK's released practically all the HP books in July, lollol.

lolol yay for people getting zen stones. i'm not sure about downloading music and putting it onto it, but if you have any on your computer, it's easy enough to slide it on there.

guys, it looks like you have to activate the Zenstone player first. It has a label which looks like one of those long, complicated serial numbers on the back, and when I connect my player to the laptop, it recognises it's there, but the "my computer" dropdown box isnn't coming up so best you have a sighty read you all the blurb so you can activate Zenstone .

(PS excuse any typos. It's just a bad combination of JAWS 7.10 and IE7.)

Hi.
I also got the zenstone and i am very happy with it. I heard a review on blind cool tech about it and i liked it so i decided to buy one.
I didn't need to enter any serial numbers myself. This might be one of vista's disadvantages. I still use xp. My computer rekognised it as soon as i plugged it in.
A very good and cheep product.
And by the way i discovered a website about mp3 players and ipods for the blind which gives a lot of useful information. It is http://www.hartgen.org

Hi! Well I got a Zen Stone for Christmas from my friend and she got one to and it works great. and if it dies just plug it in to the computer and it charges all by it’s self. It’s not hard to use what so ever. And they are so cute, and small. Well I hope you all will check them out and get one for yourself. well have a great new year

how much does it hold

Post 13 by nikos (English words from a Greek thinking brain) on Saturday, 29-Dec-2007 17:05:18

The most accessible one is 1 gb or there is zenstone plus which holds 2 gb but this one has a screen so i don't know how accessible it is. The 1 gb one hasn't got a screen.

Check the website www.hartgen.org
you might find one that sounds interesting to you but probably you will have to install rockbox on it to make it fully accessible.

Hi everyone. I too would like to find a 2 gb mp3 player. Great advice. I'll check out the website. Coby makes a screenless version. But buyer beware! First, I think it is only a 1 gb player. Next, it won't play WMa-digital-rights management protected files. So sinking songs you buy from Walmart or other services can really suck. But, Walmart and other services offer both Mp3 and Wma files. Walmart doesn't have that many mp3s but they're always adding more. If you want to sink songs to the Coby player from your hard drive and they're DRM, you'll first have to rip them onto a CD and then burn that back onto your computer. Then, you can make a playlist from the just-burned songs. You'll know which ones they are, cause if you're burning them onto a cd, it should give you the date. That is, if you're using Windows media player 10 or higher. If you want to burn songs off of albums, you need only rip them onto your computer and then sink them. Hint: Keep these burnt Cd's in case the next mp3 player you buy gives you the same trouble. Or, you could just keep these ripped songs on your computer and delete the originals. Does Zen Stone make a player with an fm tuner? I like to listen to different radio stations when I travel? Good luck anyone. Write back with any questions/comments. bw

you can convert wma to mp3 with wma convert at:
www.wma-convert.com
When you run it an open dialog comes up. Just choose the files and it is converted and placed in c:converted.
Unfortunatly you must buy it. The demo only saves 30 seconds of each song, but I am thinking about to buy it..
